Blooh jewelry is an ode to enduring products and styles crafted through heritage techniques and conscious creation. Our jewelry encapsulates long perfected skills, hope, and cultural symbols that have persisted through time and re-imagined for the modern wardrobe.

Our jewelry is responsibly sourced and handmade in our workshops in Nairobi, Kenya or with carefully vetted partners globally that prioritize worker wellbeing, fair wages, and a happy planet. These long term partnerships help us maximize our impact.

Our Sustainability

We partner with small makers and workshops to limit resources, such as water, consumed during the production process. Additionally, our materials are locally sourced as much as possible and our items are made to order to keep wasted inventory low. We are striving everyday to reduce plastics from our shipping process. Today, most of our packaging is recyclable and compostable.

OUR COMMITMENTS

Our artisans set their own rates and earn 3X above market rates of local workshops. We exist to create an inclusive supply chain that is inclusive and powered by the hand-maker economy. To build on our mission of empowering local communities, we're partnering with a local non-profit that have been improving education outcomes for girls for over a decade in Kenya.

OUR BEGINNINGS

Dressing your best starts with knowing how your products were made. We started by partnering with 3 local artisans in Nairobi, Kenya in 2021 and have slowly grown to multiple local and global workshops. Our goal is simple: to bring you lasting affordable jewelry that effortlessly transitions from day to night.

Our Materials

Polished Brass

Brass is composed of copper and zinc. It's an affordable alternative to gold that has been used for centuries due to its durability. Most of our brass is recycled and purchased locally. Brass requires some upkeep by protecting it from the day to day elements but is easily cleaned by a dry cloth or simple soap and water for a new shine. Keep it for life or recycle it easily.

Gold

Our 24K Plated Gold options are made over brass to give you a reduced tarnish rate, extended wearability, and unlimited shine without the need to polish. Our Gold Filled options have a higher composition of mostly 18K gold and sometimes 14K gold which is the most common in the US. This gives you the affordability, lasting shine, and durability for long term use. California Prop 65 standard compliant.

Silver

Silver results from chrome-plating over recycled brass to give you a stunning silver finish and tarnish resistance. Silver provides a lasting non-tarnishing shine which is perfect for day to day use or as a gift to your special someone.

Local Horn

Local Reclaimed Horn & Bone is ethically reclaimed by our artisans. It derives from cattle that's native to the Rift Valley region and the reclaimed materials have been long used to give jewelry a unique modern color in the region.
